Introduction to One Piece Lego Series

Hey there! “One Piece: The Big Score” is a hugely popular manga and a massive series with over 1000 episodes. Since 2023, it’s also a Netflix live-action series – the priciest project in Netflix’s history. The show is rightly hailed as one of the best live-action anime adaptations, boasting impressive viewer ratings and standing out as a unique and vibrant project that’s truly one-of-a-kind.

Riding this wave of success and anticipation (season two is coming!), The Lego Group decided to jump in. Today, we’ll dive into five crazy new Lego sets that could become instant classics in a few years, plus two Brickheadz sets to top it off.

75636: Windmill Village Hut

The opening scene of the first episode. At first glance, it’s nothing fancy: a small house, boat, palm tree, stickers, and a simple build. The real charm here is the mini-figures. Throughout the series (and manga/anime), there are “Bounty Posters” that show up in every episode, sometimes with increasing bounties — a pretty cool idea. Lego designers cleverly captured this with collectible printed pieces, reminiscent of the hidden elements in Harry Potter sets.

  • Release Date: August 1, 2025
  • Pieces: 299
  • Price: $33

75637: Buggy the Clown’s Circus Tent

This set might look simple at first: a modest circus tent area with a mysterious “aquarium,” target, and cage. But fans of the series will instantly recognize all models. I find the design quite successful — it depicts a key scene from the series, highlighting main features, all in a compact size. The star of the set is the clown figure. Main characters will undoubtedly appear in other sets too.

  • Release Date: August 1, 2025
  • Pieces: 573
  • Price: $55

75638: Battle at Arlong Park

Next, we move to the pirate base of Arlong on Konomi Island. Besides the main hero Luffy, all other characters feature unique collectible torsos, though their legs are standard solid colors. This set combines several “locations” in one: Usopp and Choo’s duel in the forest near the settlement, market stalls, a throne near a pool, and the Tower-Pagoda in the distance. Lego designers aimed to capture most scenes and did a great job.

A neat feature here is a destructible tower, which might even be inherently unstable!

  • Release Date: August 1, 2025
  • Pieces: 926
  • Price: $88

75639: The Going Merry Pirate Ship

A classic Lego pirate ship, but with a unique twist here: the sail features a quirky, cheerful Jolly Roger wearing a straw hat (the crew’s symbol), and the figurehead is a ram’s head. The ship includes a kitchen, hold, makeshift cabin, sails, masts, anchor, and crow’s nest—all the essentials you’d expect on a sailing vessel. Perfect for pirate ship collectors!

Minifigs include Zoro in swordsman torso and Sanji in his classic chef outfit. Other characters have repeating looks.

  • Release Date: August 1, 2025
  • Pieces: 1,376
  • Price: $143

75640: The Baratie Floating Restaurant

Suddenly, after four “regular” sets, there’s a huge 18+ collector’s set with over 3,400 pieces. Whoa! This is a restaurant (or tavern?) floating in the open sea — kind of like a monster whale or a big ship, carrying another ship, which carries yet another ship.

The design uses a classic “cut-open” concept: rotate the building to reveal richly detailed interiors — kitchen, cabins, restaurant tables, and more. This impressive collector’s set measures 35 cm tall, 54 cm wide, and 27 cm deep. It also includes plenty of collectible minifigs — from Admiral Garp and cadets to Chef Zeff and City Hunter Dracule Mihawk.

  • Release Date: August 1, 2025
  • Pieces: 3,402
  • Price: $330

40799: Monkey D. Luffy Brickheadz

Moving to Brickheadz, there are two so far. The first is the franchise’s main hero — Luffy! This classic single Brickheadz features two unique parts (his outfit and scar on his face).

  • Release Date: August 1, 2025
  • Pieces: 136
  • Price: $11

40800: Buggy the Clown Brickheadz

The second Brickheadz is an antihero with three unique parts: apart from his funny eyebrows and clothing, there’s also the pirate clown emblem on his hat. Very generous!

  • Release Date: August 1, 2025
  • Pieces: 176
  • Price: $11

Summary and Thoughts

Back in December 2024, when I learned about the new Lego series for the Netflix hit, I immediately decided to watch it — same as I did with Stranger Things. The Lego Group often leads me into adventurous paths.

In my opinion, this series is quite unusual and complex: a lot of terms, unique names, and geography. Yet, it’s deep and intriguing. The visuals are vivid, the plot dynamic and unpredictable. Among the sea of “standard” shows, this one really stands out. I’d definitely recommend it to sci-fi fans.

Regarding the Lego series, it’s a mixed bag. The four “regular” sets in the first wave don’t fit together into a single scene; they represent different episodes, locations, and scenes. Assemble them all, and you won’t get one cohesive picture. That’s a downside. But they do tell the story of this fictional world and keep the franchise’s popularity alive as merchandise and collectibles.

Despite seemingly narrow appeal, don’t underestimate these sets. The series was viewed 18.5 million times in its first week alone, and by the time the Lego sets release, it will be nearly two years since the show premiered.

I predict these sets will grow if not to the stature of Lord of the Rings (which still dominates fantasy viewership, with “Rings of Power” gathering 40 million views in the first 11 days), then certainly to the level of Stranger Things Lego sets. Expect a 60%+ value increase in 3–5 years after new releases end.

Will there be more waves? That’s a good question. It’d be logical to release a few more based on season one and support season two’s launch with another wave. Personally, I’m also waiting for sets from the third Avatar series, “Fire and Ash.”

“The Lego designers brilliantly realized the bounty poster idea with collectible printed pieces, just like the secret elements in Harry Potter.”

  • What is the release date for these One Piece Lego sets? All sets are scheduled for release on August 1, 2025.
  • Are the Lego sets designed to form a single cohesive scene? No, the four regular sets depict different episodes and locations rather than one unified set.
  • How many pieces does the largest set contain? The largest set, The Baratie Floating Restaurant, contains 3,402 pieces.
  • Are there collectible minifigures included in these sets? Yes, each set includes various collectible minifigures, some with unique torsos and accessories.
  • What is special about the Brickheadz in this series? They feature unique parts and designs of main characters like Monkey D. Luffy and Buggy the Clown.
