That\u2019s your cue to jump into action\u2014miniaturized inside a naval combat sub, you\u2019re sent coursing through his bloodstream to defeat mutated cells, dodge organic defenses, and reassemble a scattered growth inhibitor.<\/p>\n

But here\u2019s the rub: for all its narrative promise, D.N.A. Warrior\u2019s<\/a> moment-to-moment gameplay falls short of its wild setup.<\/p>\n

Mechanics That Struggle to Keep Up<\/h2>\n

But executing this maneuver is hardly intuitive: you need to hug the left edge of the screen (when moving right), after which your ship embarks on a painfully slow pirouette. Worse, you can trigger this by accident and end up losing energy as enemies slip by during your vulnerable spin.<\/p>\n

Composed by Nigel Pritchard (building on work by Thomas Petersen, aka Laxity, and Kim Kristensen, aka Future Freak), the Spectrum version trades energetic beats for a more subdued, moody vibe.
