Customers in the United States are expected to receive their packages first, followed by buyers in other countries. The queue also includes more than the physical Nintendo Switch и PlayStation 5 versions. Some customers ordered bundles containing digital codes for Xbox and PC, so the shipping process covers several formats at once.

That’s a fairly broad fulfillment operation for a limited product, especially when every box has to contain multiple carefully packed pieces. Still, after such a long wait, “the boxes are finally moving” is the kind of update customers have probably been hoping to see for months.

Argonaut Games Steps Into the Shipping Problem

The situation began to change when Argonaut Games, the team behind Croc, announced that it had taken a more direct role in the process. The developers are now coordinating shipments with the logistics company themselves.

That does not mean Argonaut is handling every customer-service question. Buyers with specific concerns about their individual preorders will still need to contact Rock It Games. The reason is straightforward: Argonaut licensed the publisher to produce the physical editions, but it did not sell the collector’s packages directly.

In other words, the developer has stepped in to help move the boxes, not to replace the publisher as the seller. It’s an unusual position, but an understandable one. A game studio can watch a delayed physical release from the sidelines for only so long before deciding that someone needs to grab the shipping clipboard.

The intervention also highlights the awkward split between making a game and delivering a premium product. Digital releases can be patched, uploaded, and distributed with little physical friction. A collector’s edition is a different beast entirely. It needs manufacturing, assembly, packaging, warehousing, customs handling, and delivery. One weak link can leave the entire production line sitting still.

Why the Collector’s Edition Fell So Far Behind

The collector’s edition originally cost $129.99 and was supposed to ship during 2025. Those plans began slipping after the remaster itself was delayed. Once the game’s schedule moved, the production timetable for its physical editions moved with it.

Rock It Games cited several reasons for the delays:

The company was dealing with the challenges of rapid growth.

Tariff uncertainty complicated planning and costs.

Сайт Croc statue caused production problems.

The game required a new mastering process for the physical editions.

The publisher and Argonaut decided to place the expanded Platinum Edition on the discs and cartridges instead of using the initially planned version.

That last change matters because it means the physical release was not simply waiting for a shipment of empty boxes. The contents were revised as well. Rather than pressing and producing the original version, the publisher and developer chose to update the material included on the discs and cartridges.

Croc statue design and collector’s edition artwork

Сайт Croc statue appears to have been another particularly stubborn part of the process. Figurines are often where collector’s editions become less predictable. A game disc can be duplicated in batches, but a resin statue has to be cast, finished, inspected, and packed without arriving with a missing ear or a face that looks like it has just discovered the shipping invoice.

There was also the broader issue of company growth. As a publisher expands, its catalog and customer base can grow faster than its internal systems. That doesn’t make a delay less disappointing, but it does help explain why a product can remain technically active while moving painfully slowly through production.

Standard Physical Copies Moved First

The ordinary physical editions had a smoother path. Shipping began during the summer, and by September, Rock It Games said it had sent out the overwhelming majority of preorder purchases.

The collector’s editions, however, remained behind for several more weeks. Once the manufacturing work was completed, the remaining delays shifted toward the unglamorous final stages: boxes, wrapping materials, assembling the contents, and arranging logistics.

This is the part of a release that rarely makes it into promotional screenshots. Nobody shows off a photograph of a warehouse shelf waiting for the correct inserts. Yet those details are exactly what determine whether a collector’s edition arrives as a complete product or as a pile of expensive loose parts.

The difference between the standard and collector’s editions is also a reminder that premium packages are effectively several products traveling together. The regular physical game needs the software and its case. The collector’s version adds a statue, music, printed materials, stickers, a keychain, and a poster. Every extra item creates another opportunity for manufacturing or packing trouble.

At this stage, the important distinction is that the collector’s editions are not merely promised for some distant future. The finished sets have reportedly been assembled, packed, and placed into the shipping process.

What Comes Inside the Box

For $129.99, the collector’s edition includes a substantial collection of Croc-themed extras:

The game itself

A full-color manual

A soundtrack spread across four CDs

A resin Croc figurine

A keychain

A poster

Stickers

Croc collector’s edition shipping update

That combination leans heavily into the physical nostalgia surrounding Croc. A colorful manual, a multi-disc soundtrack, and a character statue all feel designed for players who remember when a game could occupy an entire shelf rather than exist as a small icon on a home screen.

The four-CD soundtrack is probably the most old-school item in the package. It’s wonderfully excessive in a way modern digital releases rarely are. Nobody needs four discs to listen to game music anymore, but that’s not really the point. The format turns the soundtrack into an object, something that can be handled, displayed, and rediscovered years later.

The statue is the centerpiece, naturally. It also seems to have been one of the major sources of trouble, which makes the finished figurine especially important to the people who waited for it. Collector’s editions live or die by their headline item. A poster can be replaced; a sticker sheet can be tucked into a drawer. The statue is what makes the package feel like a collector’s edition instead of a standard copy with a few paper extras.

Preorders Can No Longer Be Changed

There is one practical detail customers should keep in mind: because the finished collector’s edition sets have already been packed and are being shipped, preorder changes and cancellations are no longer possible.

That may be frustrating for anyone whose plans have changed during the long delay. Waiting from the original preorder period in October 2024 through the later shipping schedule is a considerable stretch, and not every buyer will still be in the same situation by the time a package is ready to leave the warehouse.

Still, the restriction follows the stage of production. Once individual bundles are assembled and labeled for delivery, pulling one order back out becomes far more complicated than canceling a digital purchase or changing an order before manufacturing begins.

My first impression of this update was that it sounded like another vague “soon” announcement dressed up in shipping language. Looking more closely, it’s a little more reassuring than that: the key difference is that the boxes are already assembled and being handed over to the carrier. That doesn’t erase the delay, and it doesn’t guarantee every international customer will receive a package at the same time, but it does suggest the release has finally moved beyond the most uncertain part of the process.

A Better Ending for a Very Long Wait

Argonaut’s involvement won’t change the history of this collector’s edition. Buyers still waited far longer than originally expected, and the combination of shifting schedules, production problems, and logistics issues made the experience more complicated than anyone wanted.

There is also some uncertainty around exactly when every international order will arrive. The rollout begins with customers in the United States, while buyers elsewhere follow afterward. Delivery times can vary, so a shipping notice is not quite the same thing as a package on the doorstep.

Even so, the direction is finally positive. The Croc collector’s edition has moved from delayed production into active fulfillment. After months of explanations about statues, mastering, packaging, and shipping coordination, the most convincing update is a simple one: the boxes are leaving.

Заключение

The Croc collector’s edition took a winding route from preorder to shipment, but Argonaut Games’ direct coordination appears to have helped push the release over the finish line. The package still has to travel to customers around the world, yet a completed box in the delivery network is a much better sight than another revised estimate. Did you preorder one, and is the four-CD soundtrack enough to justify the long wait?

ЧАСТО ЗАДАВАЕМЫЕ ВОПРОСЫ

What is included in the Croc collector’s edition?
The package includes the game, a full-color manual, a four-CD soundtrack, a resin Croc figurine, a keychain, a poster, and stickers.

How much did the collector’s edition cost?
The listed price was $129.99.

When did preorders open?
Preorders opened in October 2024.

Who is coordinating the delayed shipments?
Argonaut Games is directly coordinating with the logistics company, while Rock It Games remains responsible for preorder-related customer questions.

Can an existing preorder still be canceled or changed?
No. The collector’s editions have been assembled and packed for shipment, so changes and cancellations are no longer available.

Stay tuned for more carefully written retro-gaming updates by subscribing to the newsletter.

*Этот пост может содержать партнерские ссылки, то есть мы получаем комиссионные, если вы совершаете покупку по этим ссылкам, без каких-либо дополнительных затрат для вас.

The Croc collector’s edition is finally shipping after a two-year wait, with Argonaut Games stepping in to coordinate delayed orders.
["Retro Gaming","Croc Legend Of The Gobbos","Collector Editions
[134
2118,4110,174
post-34377","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-retrogaming","tag-collectoreditions","tag-croclegendofthegobbos","tag-retrogaming","cs-entry

<!-- All in One SEO Pro 5.0.4 -
