Explore the epic clash as The Thing battles classic villains in this exciting new Marvel series!
Ben Grimm’s Return to the Spotlight

It’s clobberin’ time! Ben Grimm, the ever-reliable rock of the Fantastic Four, has faced off against heavyweights like Doctor Doom, Galactus, Kang the Conqueror, and the Super-Skrull. He’s gone toe-to-toe with the Hulk and even taken on the likes of D-Man. But it doesn’t stop there—throughout his comic history, especially in titles like Marvel Two-in-One and his solo adventures in the ’80s with The Thing, Ben has taken on countless villains, not to mention his cosmic escapades as “Rocky Grimm,” Space Ranger.
A New Solo Adventure
The blue-eyed powerhouse is back with a bang in his first solo series since 2022! Over five thrilling issues, Marvel’s The Thing vol. 4 will showcase Ben Grimm clobbering a surprising array of foes. This time, he faces off against the Serpent Society’s own Sidewinder, recently seen in Captain America: Brave New World, and the infamous assassin Bullseye, who has made a chilling return in Daredevil: Born Again.

According to the series synopsis, this exciting five-issue arc, crafted by writer Tony Fleecs (known for Venom War: Wolverine) and artist Justin Mason (from Sentinels), follows Ben as he steps away from the Fantastic Four. He dives into a convoluted criminal conspiracy that has deep roots stretching back to his childhood on Yancy Street. As he battles his way to the top, he’ll find himself in a clash against some of Marvel’s most famed villains. The stakes are high when the big bad places a hefty bounty on his head, forcing Ben to contend with a who’s who of classic Marvel adversaries, including the relentless Juggernaut.
Insights from the Creative Team
“What fascinates me about Ben Grimm is that he’s just an ordinary guy who happens to have superpowers,” Fleecs shared. “He embodies that Jack Kirby spirit, remaining unfazed by the wild cosmic antics that surround him.”

Fleecs further elaborated, “The fun aspect of this book is figuring out what could possibly surprise The Thing. We’re throwing all kinds of villains from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe at him. Expect him to battle opponents that might just catch him off guard. You’ll definitely see Benjy clobber some foes he’s never faced before!”
