I wanted a better-organised favorites list, so I could spend more time playing – and less time finding my games.

I created Miyoo Better Favorites, a free, open-source alternative to stock Favorites for Miyoo Mini and Mini Plus running Onion OS.
As my favorites list grew, browsing it became frustrating. Games from different consoles were mixed together, long titles were cut off, and numbered ROM names made the list harder to scan. After playing, I wanted to return to the game I had selected instead of finding my place again.
I saw other Miyoo users asking for similar improvements. So I built the favorites browser I wanted to use – while keeping Onion’s existing favorites, themes and game-launching workflow.
What I wanted to fix
A mixed list that takes too long to browse.
Better Favorites groups games by console. Use ← / → to jump between systems and L1/R1 to move a page at a time. If you prefer a single list, grouping can be turned off.
Titles you can’t read in full.
Long selected names scroll automatically, so you can tell similar games and versions apart before launching them.
Numbers getting in the way of game names.
You can hide numeric prefixes and sort by title without renaming your ROMs or changing their stored labels.
Losing your place after playing.
The app remembers your selection and scroll position. Enable Automatic return, and B/START in GameSwitcher brings you back to Better Favorites—even after switching games.
An extra trip through Apps just to open Favorites.
You can open Better Favorites directly from the existing Home Favorites tile. Enable replacement once, then use it like stock Favorites.
Uncertainty about what “remove” actually deletes.
Removing a favorite deletes only its list entry. Your game, artwork, saves and recent history stay intact.
Built around Onion, not a separate library

I didn’t want another database to maintain or a different way to launch games. Better Favorites reads your existing Onion favorites list, follows your active theme and uses Onion’s game-launching mechanisms.
Home Favorites replacement and Automatic return are optional and start OFF. You can use the app from Apps, enable either integration, or use both.
Try it on your Miyoo
I’ve tested it on my Miyoo Mini Plus running Onion OS v4.3.1-1. Installation tools are available for Windows, macOS and Linux; the GitHub repository has the downloads, compatibility details and install/uninstall instructions.

Tell me what you think
This started as something I wanted for my own handheld. I’m sharing it so other Miyoo owners can use it – and help make it better.
If you find a bug or have a feature idea, open an issue on GitHub. Code contributions through pull requests are welcome too.
And if it makes browsing your games a little easier, give the project a star.
