Get ready for an exciting new range of Sonic The Hedgehog mini arcade cabinets that will take you on a nostalgic ride!
The Exciting Collaboration Between SEGA and MyArcade
Sonic The Hedgehog enthusiasts, rejoice! The dream of playing Sonic in miniature form is about to come true as SEGA teams up with MyArcade to unveil some fantastic mini arcade cabinets at this year’s CES. If you’re a die-hard fan of the little blue hedgehog, you’ll definitely want to keep reading.

This news comes hot on the heels of MyArcade’s partnership with ATARI for their GameStation, which also made waves at CES this year. Clearly, MyArcade is on fire, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
What to Expect from the Mini Cabinets
MyArcade has given us a sneak peek of not just one, but two unique Sonic The Hedgehog mini arcade cabinets. That’s right! Alongside these, they’ve also teased cabinets for fan-favorites like Golden Axe and Shinobi. Oh, and don’t forget the Outrun and Streets of Rage cabinets that are also in the lineup, according to their official X account.

The Sonic cabinets will feature two distinct designs. One will showcase a classic arcade cabinet aesthetic, complete with a small joystick and three action buttons. The second version will have a larger joystick for better handling, accompanied by a single jump button.
The Golden Axe and Shinobi cabinets will follow a similar theme, although we’ve only seen one version of each so far. The Shinobi variant sports the larger joystick but includes three buttons for a more versatile gaming experience.
Outrun’s Stunning Mini Cabinet
This mini cabinet will come equipped with a tiny steering wheel and controls, which look absolutely breathtaking in the teased images shared on social media. Finally, an affordable way to experience these classic titles at home, all while boasting an engaging and unique design!

Currently, details about whether these cabinets will feature the arcade ROM or Sega Mega Drive/Genesis versions of the games remain under wraps. Plus, we’re still in the dark about whether these cabinets will come pre-loaded with multiple games, a trademark of MyArcade’s offerings.
The Price Point and Expectations
If MyArcade can keep these cabinets at a reasonable price—ideally in line with their $40 Micro Players—then I can already envision them flying off the shelves. While MyArcade may not be celebrated for exceptional build quality when compared to competitors like Quarter Arcades, they cater to a different audience seeking affordable arcade thrills.
As we inch closer to the launch, we’ll keep a vigilant eye on MyArcade and their gradual reveal of more images and videos related to these exciting products. Fingers crossed we can get our hands on these cabinets for a review when (and if) they drop later this year.
